Happy Friday! I've decided I'm going to start taking y'all on a tour of our home, one room at a time. Let's start with the living room! Harrison and I have put a lot of blood (Harrison's), sweat (a little of both) and tears (ONLY ME) into this house. We bought it almost three years ago and it has gone through LOTS of transformation since then. Luckily for us, the living room was fairly minimal and all cosmetic. Here's what we did ::
-painted the wood paneling
-added shiplap & mantel
-added grasscloth wallpaper in top built-ins
If you don't already know, I love COLOR. This room is one of the most colorful rooms in our house and it gets a ton of natural light so I love how airy it is, with pops of bold color.
I feel like my personal style is reflected a lot in my interior design tastes; I love gold, pops of color, leopard, neutrals, & a little bit of funky flair.
A lot of people's first thought is to put the TV above the mantel. We started with it there, but realized since our living room is so rectangular, it would be better suited on the other wall allowing things to be more spread out.
Harrison's ONLY request for this room was that we get this fold-up coffee table (Sam's Club's finest, y'all) to eat dinner on, so I kind of had to give in on that one. The honey wood isn't my first choice, but this antique piece that we had actually works well under the TV.
My eventual plan is to put gold sconces on either side of the TV.
No room is complete without multiple Britt Bass paintings, right?!
Here's everything retail that I could find to link (and some similar items), in case you're interested. For those things you don't see, I am always happy to get pieces from my wholesale vendors, even if I'm not working with you as a client! If you have a question about anything you see on the blog or social media, just shoot me an email - email@example.com.
